Tractor-Trailer Collides with Car on Kirby Road in Clinton Resulting in Death

The start to the Memorial Day weekend was marred by tragedy in Prince George’s County, Maryland, where a deadly crash involving a tractor-trailer and passenger vehicle claimed the life of one person. Maryland State Police from the Forestville Barrack were dispatched shortly before 3 a.m. to Kirby Road near MD-5 Branch Ave in Clinton, where they found the aftermath of the two-vehicle collision. Although the cause of the accident is yet to be determined, the driver of the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene. The northbound lanes at Coventry Way were closed for nearly five hours, causing travel disruptions, before they were reopened around 8 a.m. The incident is under investigation, and our thoughts are with the loved ones of those affected by this devastating accident.
