Incident Information

Tragedy struck Landover on Wednesday afternoon when a fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Landover road and Firehouse road on July 26, 2023. The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is taking charge of the investigation. A collision involving five vehicles led to a devastating outcome, as officers arrived on the scene to find a victim unresponsive in her car. Despite their best efforts, she was rushed to the hospital but pronounced dead shortly after her arrival. Reports state that the deceased driver, identified as 64-year-old Kerris Jennings, was a resident of Landover.

The accident also left several people with minor injuries. It appears that all drivers were heading northbound before stopping at the red light at the intersection. However, one driver rear-ended another car, setting off a chain reaction that led to additional collisions involving the other three vehicles causing a multi-car crash. The reasons behind the accident are still under investigation.

Although the details are unknown, authorities are working tirelessly to gather information. This heartbreaking news serves as a reminder to always prioritize safety and caution while on the road. As the community comes together to pray for the victim’s family, we all hope that the investigation will provide them some much-needed closure.
