Car Accident: One Person Killed on Bicknell Road in Maryland

Incident Information

A tragic single-vehicle accident in Indian Head on Tuesday afternoon claimed the life of a driver after their vehicle collided with a utility pole and overturned.

The incident occurred near Bowman Place on Bicknell Road and was reported through a 911 call at approximately 4:33 p.m. on November 12, 2024. Emergency responders arrived to find the vehicle overturned on its roof, with the driver trapped inside.

Due to the severity of the crash, the Maryland State Police Trooper 2 helicopter was pre-launched. However, EMS personnel pronounced the driver deceased at the scene, leading to the helicopter’s cancellation.

The driver’s identity has not yet been released, as authorities are awaiting notification of the family.

SMECO was called to address the damaged utility pole and downed power lines caused by the crash.

Police are continuing their investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
