Incident Information

Two juveniles were hospitalized after crashing a stolen vehicle while fleeing from police in East Baltimore on Wednesday, authorities said.

Around 7:05 p.m., officers patrolling near East North Avenue and Belair Road spotted the vehicle being driven recklessly. After running the license plate, they discovered it had been reported stolen, according to Baltimore Police Department spokesperson Lindsey Eldridge.

When officers attempted to pull the vehicle over, the driver refused to stop and sped away. Shortly afterward, the stolen car collided with another vehicle near Belair Road and Sinclair Lane.

The passenger of the stolen car tried to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended, Eldridge said. Police later identified the driver as a 15-year-old boy and the passenger as a 16-year-old boy.

Both teens were taken to a hospital for treatment. The woman driving the other vehicle was also hospitalized and was listed in stable condition Wednesday night.

Charges are pending against the two teenagers, according to police.
