A Woman Was Struck and Killed in a Silver Spring Accident

An adult female pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle Friday morning, according to Montgomery County Police.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:12 a.m. at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Silver Spring Avenue in downtown Silver Spring. Authorities said the driver involved stayed at the scene.
The woman was taken to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Police have not yet released the victim’s identity or additional details about the driver or the vehicle.
The Montgomery County Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash, and officials said further information will be provided as it becomes available.
