Incident Information

A tragic incident unfolded on Thursday afternoon, April 4, as a 35-year-old man lost his life in a devastating vehicular accident. The unfortunate event occurred when a garbage truck, driven by the man, crashed and plummeted from a ramp connected to southbound I-95, landing onto a set of railroad tracks in Baltimore City. The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) Police Collision Reconstruction Unit reported the incident happening shortly after 2:15 p.m. at the ramp leading from southbound I-95 to southbound MD 295.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered the aftermath of a single-vehicle crash involving a white Mack garbage truck, which had careened off the ramp and onto the railroad tracks below. Tragically, the driver, identified as a 35-year-old Hanover resident, was pronounced dead by the MDTA at the scene.

While no other injuries were reported in connection with the accident, the incident has left a community mourning the loss of a life cut short. As the investigation into the circumstances continues, authorities urge anyone with pertinent information to come forward and assist by contacting the MDTA Police at 443-604-3189.

How a Maryland Truck Accident Lawyer Can Help

Proving fault and holding the guilty party liable after a truck accident can be challenging. Though you might think it is obvious who was at fault, insurance companies will often do whatever they can to deny fault and protect their client, especially when that client. Thus, handling these kinds of cases typically requires the assistance of an attorney.

Personal injury attorneys work to help their injured clients seek justice and recover as much compensation as possible. They have experience dealing with insurers and know what it takes to provide the necessary evidence to prove the fault of the guilty party. Without an attorney, the insurance company will likely offer you a low settlement amount that is much less than you deserve.
