Car Crash Victim, Christopher Sosa Dies in an Accident on Accokeek Road near Gardner Road
Incident Information
The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is continuing to investigate a fatal crash that occurred on Wednesday morning. 17-year-old Christopher Sosa of Accokeek was killed in the accident. Shortly after 7 a.m. on April 17, police officers received a report of a single car crash on Accokeek Road near Gardner Road. Sosa and his passenger were taken to the hospital, where Sosa died that night. The passenger was treated and later released, according to the police department.
A preliminary investigation has revealed that Sosa crossed a double-yellow line while traveling northbound on Accokeek Road in order to pass slower-moving vehicles. This information comes from a police report which states that a Prince George’s County Sheriff’s deputy witnessed the event and briefly activated the emergency equipment on his unmarked cruiser.
Investigators believe that Sosa lost control of his car on a crest in the roadway, which caused the accident. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
