Montgomery County police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run after a 62-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle in Aspen Hill and later died at a hospital.

The collision occurred shortly after 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2026, near Arctic Avenue and Bel Pre Road.

Officers responding to the scene found the woman suffering from serious injuries in or near the roadway. She was transported to an area hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

A witness provided investigators with potentially important information. Police said the striking vehicle was identified as a Jeep Wrangler, and the witness was able to provide officers with the vehicle’s license plate information.
