Fatal Motorcycle Crash Reported in Ellicott City

Howard County police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that killed a 31-year-old Ellicott City man Sunday evening.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. on June 28, 2026, on Baltimore National Pike at Frederick Road in Ellicott City. According to Howard County police, a 2008 Yamaha FZ1 was traveling eastbound on Baltimore National Pike when it left the roadway. The operator was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police later identified the rider as Thomas O’Halloran, 31, of Ellicott City. No other vehicles were involved in the collision. Investigators said preliminary findings suggest that speed was a factor, though the investigation remains ongoing.

Eastbound Baltimore National Pike near Frederick Road was closed for approximately two hours while police investigated and cleared the scene.
