Pedestrian Accident Along Veirs Mill Road in Montgomery County Results in Death

Residents near Veirs Mill Road are shaken after a fatal pedestrian collision on Tuesday evening around 7pm. The Montgomery County Police are currently investigating the incident that led to the road closure between Atlantic Avenue and Meadow Hall Drive. 

When the police were called to the scene on Veirs Mill Road, they found a woman who had been hit by two cars lying lifeless in the road. The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was crossing the road at Atlantic Avenue when the accident occurred. While there were reports of a third car involved, it was determined that the woman had only been struck by two of the three vehicles. 

The tragic collision resulted in the loss of the 70-year-old woman who has now been identified as Teresa Moreno De Mejia. Though two drivers were present during the incident, detectives from the Collision Reconstruction Unit are on the hunt for the possible third vehicle that may have contributed to the accident. With the investigation underway, it’s clear that every detail matters when piecing together what happened on the scene. With time and effort, the authorities hope to bring justice to the victim and her family. The community mourns the loss of a fellow member and urges for safer crossing measures to be put in place.
