Queen Anne's County Highway Crash Kills One Woman, Injures Two
Incident Information
Mickie Mowbray, 58, of Greensboro, was tragically killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning, July 22, in Queen Anne’s County, according to Maryland State Police.
Troopers from the Centreville Barrack responded to the scene just after 9:10 a.m. in the southbound lanes of US Route 301 at Price Station Road following reports of a collision.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a Mazda traveling southbound on Route 301 struck the driver’s side of a Kia attempting to cross the highway. The impact caused the Kia to overturn.
Mowbray, the sole occupant and driver of the Kia, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Mazda’s driver, a 22-year-old man, and a 20-year-old female passenger were both airlifted to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment of injuries, the extent of which has not been disclosed.
Investigators believe that speed may have contributed to the crash. The incident remains under investigation by Maryland State Police.
