An Early Morning Crash in Montgomery County Kills One Man, Hospitalizes Another

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — One man is dead and another hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning in Montgomery County, officials confirmed.

Montgomery County Police reported that around 3:21 a.m., officers and emergency responders were dispatched to the 4500 block of Sandy Spring Road (MD-198) for a collision involving two vehicles.

The driver of a red 2007 Honda CR-V was pronounced dead at the scene despite life-saving efforts. Authorities have not yet released his identity pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the second vehicle, a gray 2024 Honda CR-V, was transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

As of now, all westbound lanes of MD-198 at McKnew Road have reopened. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
