Authorities are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred in Anne Arundel County.

Police responded to the intersection of Mount Zion Marlboro Road and Main Street in Lothian following reports of a serious collision.

According to investigators, a 2009 Yamaha Star motorcycle was traveling westbound on Mount Zion Marlboro Road when a 2012 Honda Accord attempted to turn left from Main Street onto Mount Zion Marlboro Road. During the turn, the motorcycle struck the rear driver’s side quarter panel of the Accord as it crossed into the westbound lane.

The impact of the crash caused the motorcycle’s rider, 43-year-old Katrina Prieur, to be ejected from the bike. She landed in the roadway and was airlifted to Shock Trauma, where she later died from her injuries.

The driver of the Honda, a 20-year-old man, was not injured in the crash.
