Living in Rosedale, Maryland
Rosedale, Maryland is a small community located northeast of Baltimore that has a population of about 19,300 people. It was founded as a rural plantation and farming community, then grew larger as an early suburb of greater Baltimore along the Philadelphia Road.
Rosedale has a cost of living that is just above the national average. It can be expensive to be a renter here, with the median rent at $1177 compared to the $949 national average. Crime is also 28% higher here than it is across the rest of the nation, which is likely the effect of being so close to downtown Baltimore, MD but the city has seen a recent drop in overall crime rates year to year.
Because it sits within the Baltimore County School System, Rosedale is viewed as a place for suburban families who are connected to Baltimore – often through an employer – but don’t necessarily want to live in the heart of downtown. In terms of recreation, Rosedale is known for its beautiful parks dotted throughout the area and plentiful bars and restaurants along the Pulaski Highway.
A Vehicle Accident in Rosedale, Maryland
This accident took place in Rosedale on a Thursday at 6:52 p.m. in the summertime. The first vehicle was stopped on Delegge Road at the intersection with Kenwood Avenue. The second vehicle was traveling southbound on Kenwood near Delegge. While the first vehicle’s driver was stopped at the light on Delegge, he couldn’t see that the color of the light was red due to the sun’s glare, but heard a driver behind him honking so he began to proceed through the intersection. Vehicle two’s driver was unable to stop in time and struck vehicle one. The impact caused vehicle one to spin and strike a third vehicle, which had been stopped on Delegge Road on the opposite side of the intersection. All three vehicles had disabling damage from the impacts involved in this accident.
Another Rosedale accident happened on January 20 on a clear, dry day during daylight hours on Pulaski Highway near the Golden Ring Plaza. According to witnesses who were interviewed for the police report, there were three vehicles involved in the crash. The first vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by the third vehicle, then the third vehicle lost control and struck the second vehicle, also on its driver’s side. The first vehicle’s driver told police that the third vehicle came into his lane and struck him, then he pulled over and heard the collision between the second and third vehicles. The second vehicle’s driver said he saw the collision between the first and third vehicle but was unable to get out of the way before the third vehicle lost control, spun, and struck him. The third vehicle’s driver said she didn’t see the first vehicle when she attempted to change lanes and after the first collision, she lost control of her vehicle, tried not to hit the median barrier, and struck the second vehicle on the driver’s side.
Refrigerator on I-695 Causes Multi-car Crash in Rosedale
A refrigerator in the middle of I-695 near exit 35 in Rosedale set off a severe multi-car collision just after 4 p.m. on August 2, 2021. Although it’s unknown how the refrigerator got there, numerous drivers and witnesses saw what happened next.
Traffic slowed around the refrigerator but some drivers couldn’t come to a complete stop fast enough. One vehicle collided with another as they attempted to switch lanes and avoid the hazard in the roadway.
Post-crash police interviews revealed that one car was rear-ended by an unknown vehicle and another car was in a side-impact collision that caused bodily injuries. Two other cars sustained disabling damage and an ambulance was also hit when a car swerved to avoid the crash.
None of the drivers in this crash received traffic violations. A vehicle that was presumably carrying the refrigerator prior to the crash hasn’t been located.
If you drive on I-695, you know it’s one of Baltimore’s most dangerous places to drive. After a severe chain-reaction collision like this, move to safety immediately. Assess yourself for injuries, call 911, and accept medical assistance at the scene of the accident.

Zirkin & Schmerling Law will help you protect the value of your claim so you can pursue the resources you need to heal and recover.

Will My Case Go to Court?
Here’s some good news about many types of cases: Most can be resolved outside of court through an insurance arrangement or settlement. But sometimes going to court is the best way to get the compensation you deserve. It’s always important to have an experienced Maryland lawyer on your side.
For a personal injury case in Rosedale, sometimes there is no need to go to court for a civil matter because a talented lawyer can help you negotiate a settlement that is accepted by both sides. In this situation, nobody goes to court, yet everyone carefully creates an agreement that resolves the situation. While a lot of civil cases settle, the insurance companies keep offering less and less on cases. Due to this, it is important to have a lawyer representing you who is familiar with trying cases in front of a judge or jury.
Many lawyers claim to handle personal injury or car accident cases but have never seen the inside of a courtroom. Before hiring a lawyer make sure you know that they are experienced in litigation. Also, the insurance companies will sometimes offer more money to law firms that go to court because the insurance company knows that the lawyer isn’t just looking for a quick settlement for the client.
For a criminal case, a court appearance may be unavoidable. You’ll need to present your best case to the court and a lawyer can help you show the judge that you’re a respectable person who is trying to do the right thing. Sometimes, you can avoid going to court in a criminal case if your lawyer can negotiate a legal arrangement with the prosecutor. Once again, it is important to have a lawyer who understands the details of trying a criminal case in front of a judge or jury. Prosecutors know the lawyers that will try a case in front of a judge or jury and the lawyers that are looking to plead their client guilty. If you have a real trial lawyer on your side that can often lead to better offers from the prosecutor’s office.
For a family law case, these cases such as divorce can be complex and may involve court appearances. In some cases, you can negotiate arrangements with the other side with the help of your family law attorney and may avoid the need for a court appearance. With family law cases it is always best to avoid court if possible so you don’t have to bring the children into the litigation.
Also, it helps keep your attorney fees down, but sometimes there is no choice and you have to try the case because the other side is not being reasonable. In these situations, it is crucial to have an experienced family law attorney to try your case.
For a worker’s compensation case, these cases often involve an appearance in front of a workers’ compensation commissioner. Make sure your lawyer has experience with worker’s compensation claims like yours, right here in Rosedale and Baltimore.
Please contact us for an initial consultation about your case and we will help you understand your options and the potential outcomes involved.
