Seven Students Hospitalized After Woodlawn School Bus Crash
Incident Information
Seven students were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after a school bus crashed in Baltimore County on Monday morning, according to police.
The Baltimore County Fire Department reported responding to the collision around 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of Rolling Road and Dogwood Road.
Dr. Rodrick Hobbs, principal of Windsor Mill Middle School, informed parents and guardians about the incident in a letter.
“This morning, your child’s bus was involved in an accident,” Hobbs wrote. “We followed our established protocol for bus accidents, and all students were evaluated by EMS at the scene. Seven students were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, and the remaining students are safe and will be transported to school on a replacement bus once police give the all-clear. School administrators are on-site providing support, and staff from the Department of Transportation are investigating this incident.”
Hobbs reassured families that student safety remains the school’s highest priority and encouraged parents with questions to contact the school directly.
While the cause of the crash remains under investigation, video obtained by WJZ shows tree branches stuck to the front of the bus and damage to nearby bushes separating the roadway from a parking lot.
Police confirmed that the bus also struck a Honda during the crash.
