Frederick County Morning Crash Claims the Life of a 6-Month-Old

A tragic crash in Frederick County, Maryland, has claimed the life of a 6-month-old boy and left two others injured, according to Maryland State Police.
Investigators say the infant was airlifted by a Maryland State Police helicopter to Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, where he was later pronounced dead. A 3-year-old boy and a 26-year-old woman, also passengers in the vehicle, were transported by ambulance to Johns Hopkins Hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
Troopers responded to the scene just before 11 a.m. in the 12000 block of Woodsboro Pike (Route 194). According to police, a northbound Dodge Durango veered off the roadway, struck a utility pole, and crashed into a nearby home. Fortunately, the house was unoccupied at the time of the incident.
Authorities noted that impairment does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
Route 194 in Keymar was closed in both directions while the Maryland State Police Crash Team conducted their investigation.
