Imagine you are driving and you get pulled over by a police officer and you do not know why. The officer tells you that you have a tail-light out. In your mind, the worse that is going to happen is that you have to get the tail light fixed. But then the officer goes back to his car, goes onto his computer, checks up your information, and discovers your license is suspended. Now imagine, you had no idea your license is suspended. No one sent you any notice in the mail that your license was suspended. You had no idea your license was suspended or how long this has been the case. You would probably be wondering if this is a serious charge? Should you hire an attorney to defend you?
This type of thing happens all of the time and it is a very big deal. You can go to jail for driving while your license is suspended. In addition, you could be facing large fines and/or points assessed against your license.
